The Himachal Pradesh State Selection Commission, Hamirpur, has announced recruitment for 600 posts of Junior Basic Teacher (JBT) under the Job Trainee category. The official notification was released, and the application process will be conducted online only. Eligible candidates can apply from 14 August 2025 to 17 September 2025 through the official website hprca.hp.gov.in. The recruitment will involve district-wise appointments across 12 districts of Himachal Pradesh, and selection will be made through a Computer-Based Test (CBT).
Important Dates
The application process for HP JBT Teacher Recruitment 2025 will begin on 14 August 2025 and close on 17 September 2025. Candidates will be able to make corrections to their applications within a 7-day correction window, starting three working days after the last date of application submission. Applicants are advised to complete their forms well before the deadline to avoid last-minute technical issues.

Application Fees
For all categories, the application fee is โน800, which includes โน100 as the examination fee and โน700 as the processing fee. The correction fee for any changes in the submitted form is โน100. Fees are to be paid online only.
Age Limit
The minimum age for applicants is 18 years, and the maximum age is 47 years as of 01 January 2025. Reserved category candidates will receive age relaxations as per government norms.
Vacancy Details
The 600 vacancies are distributed across districts as follows: Bilaspur (34), Chamba (54), Hamirpur (28), Kangra (102), Kinnaur (5), Kullu (30), Lahaul-Spiti (11), Mandi (106), Shimla (76), Sirmaur (57), Solan (56), and Una (41). These vacancies are further divided into General, EWS, OBC, SC, and ST categories.
Educational Qualification
Applicants must have passed Senior Secondary (10+2) with at least 50% marks along with a two-year JBT/D.El.Ed diploma, or be graduates with a D.El.Ed, or hold a B.El.Ed, Special Education, or B.Ed-M.Ed degree. Additionally, candidates must have passed the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) conducted by the Himachal Pradesh Board or an equivalent recognized institution. Knowledge of local customs, language, and environment of Himachal Pradesh will be considered desirable.
Selection Process and Exam Pattern
The selection process will consist of a Computer-Based Test (CBT) carrying 100 marks, with a total of 200 objective-type questions. Each question will be worth 0.5 marks, and the duration of the exam will be 2 hours. The paper will include 140 questions related to the subject and 60 questions covering General Knowledge, Science, Logic, and English/Hindi at the matriculation level. The minimum qualifying marks are set at 45% for General category candidates and 40% for reserved categories.

To apply, candidates must first register on the HPRCA portal and complete the One Time Registration (OTR) profile. They should upload their educational qualifications and relevant documents, select the post they wish to apply for, choose their examination district, and verify their details.
